After our week on the very isolated and underdeveloped East coast of Nicaragua, San Juan Del Sur was somewhat of a pleasant change. The roads were a lot cleaner and less hectic in comparison to Leon and it was clear there was much more of an American influence in the area (probably due to its close proximity to Costa Rica, a popular American holiday spot).
We took advantage of the normalcy, Bryce, Will and I heading out for a big fatty burger like only the Americans know how to do. The bar was alive with American retirees who were celebrating a friend's "5th" birthday. Turns out he was declared dead after becoming unconscious in the surf but the water was so cold that it somehow allowed him to be revived and survive!
The next day we headed out to a local beach with the boys keen for a surf. There was certainly waves to be caught but I'm not sure how successful they all were.
Hello to all & welcome to our travel blog! Will & I(Karly) met at a summer camp in '08 and have continued our journey together ever since! Summers in the States, winter at a ski hill in Canada while mixing it up in various countries between!
